Why Cedars?

Building lifelong learners

What makes Cedars unique?

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge - Proverbs 1:7

Cedars exists to teach students that it is the Lord who gives wisdom and knowledge. We do not achieve this goal simply by adding a Bible verse to our syllabi or praying at the beginning of class. The staff of Cedars approaches everything we teach through a Christian worldview. We look at the world through the lens of faith to impart true wisdom and knowledge to every student.

One way we do this is prioritizing family time and the life of the home. We believe that our families are the seedbeds of education. In other words, education is life, and family is the fundamental structure in which that life can thrive. Because we place such a high value on home life, we only hold in-person classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This hybrid approach has proven to enhance the educational life of the student and encourage life together in the home, while also allowing students time to engage in their communities and other pursuits outside the classroom

On school days, our students spend lots of time outside! God’s creation is full of many interesting things to explore and be curious about. We strive to help students appreciate these opportunities through nature walks, tree studies, bird watching, insect collecting, leaf identification, and more.

If you are in the Bloomington, Indiana, area and you think our priorities sound like your priorities, we would love to share more of the exciting things we are doing. Continue to explore our website, and give us a call. We look forward to speaking with you.
