Living Fridays are a time for our kids to get the extras of education that tend to get left out. We can get so caught up in the 3 R’s, we forget our children are in a world created by God that is filled with opportunities for LIVING. Education is not only about the mind; it’s about the body, enjoying God and His creation, serving others, and much more. We want to encourage the innate curiosity of our children and spread a vast feast of opportunities and experiences before them.
Our Friday mornings consist of Lauds (our chapel time) and classroom instruction in core subjects including the Hour of Math, Bible, worldview, and choir.
The afternoons are then focused on giving our students the opportunity to interact with the world around them. Our 1st and 2nd grade students have art and music instruction, nature walks, and other special opportunities. Our 3rd-8th grade students spend their afternoons in various actvities including nature study, field trips, P.E., art, and service projects. Each semester there are also schoolwide recitation days and a book club based on a family read-aloud.
The schedule listed below from last school year gives you a taste of the variety of activities we seek to include.
